Makati’s Bad Bird

Hole in the Wall is Century City Mall’s high-end version of the food court and is located at the top floor. It features a number of food and drinks establishments which you can only find there to maintain their exclusivity.

For this post, I’ll talk Bad Bird which has sells some of THE best tasting chickens ever. Their main selling point is their Fried Chicken Plate which comes in three varieties: the Waffle Plate, Corn and Coleslaw Plate, and the Dirty Rice Plate, costing around P290.00, P340.00 and P330.00 respectively. Each plate comes with 2 large, crispy, and deeply flavored chickens with 3 spiciness levels to choose from: safe, spicy and chemical; and either a waffle, corn and coleslaw, or dirty rice and kimchi depending on the plate. Sadly though, gravy isn’t included and costs around P15.00, though I doubt you’d need it with how savory the chicken already is.

Dirty Rice Plate with Chemical Chicken

My friend Donn and his girlfriend Iza ordered a chemical-level chicken which you could never force me to eat since I’m really terrible with spicy food. According to them though, the dirty rice tastes really good but was too few for both chickens. They also compared Bad Bird’s chemical level to some restaurant’s 2.0 and was quite impressed with both.

I, on the other hand, ordered their waffle plate since I’ve tried their corn and coleslaw before already. Now, this may sound and taste weird to you but I like how the savory flavor of the chicken is paired with the sweet flavor of a maple-syrup-topped waffle. Having this contrast helps keep me from getting too easily fed up with the taste.

Aside from Bad Bird, there are other food establishments that I have yet to try. Hole in the Wall is definitely Food Porn material!
