Greenhills’ Tender Bob’s American Resto
Found at the ground floor of Greenhills Promenade, Tender Bob’s offers traditional American food such as ribs and steak (to name a few) for your cravings.
The only times I’ve ever been to Greenhills are when there are events such as wedding receptions or birthday parties. Seldom do I go there with my family or my friends to eat or shop. So when my parents had to attend an event at Gloria Maris, I took the opportunity to look what Greenhills Promenade had to offer.
If I remember correctly, Greenhills Promenade is a rather new building and contains mostly restaurants with a few retail shops and a cinema. After looking around, I opted for American cuisine and Tender Bob’s was my choice.
The interior of Tender Bob’s has around 15 tables which could accommodate at least a party of 4. They also have tables available outside although I’m not sure on the number. People flock to Tender Bob’s even before peak times and are willing to wait for tables to be cleared.
Caesar Salad Solo – San Francisco original with a zest (PHP 249.00). For our appetizer, I went with something classic. The Caesar salad was quite fresh and the dressing wasn’t too flavorful or heavy. The bacon bits were sufficient when portioned with the salad; although having more of them would have been nice. I really like croutons, whether in salads or not.
Baked Ziti – Penne pasta with Bolognese sauce Smothered with cream & cheese (PHP 219.00). I usually order pastas with a cream base but since we ordered the meat platter, I went for the lighter, tomato-sauce based Ziti. The entire dish remained lightly flavored even with all the cream and cheese on top. I’d say, this was probably the best Ziti I’ve had so far. That or I simply have to explore more restaurants.
Meat Platter – A sampler of pork chops, baby back ribs, chicken steak and domestic rib-eye (PHP 1,499.00). When ordering this dish, you’ll have to choose the “done-ness” of your meat. I asked mine to be well-done just to be on the safe side. Now, all the meat were tender and seasoned lightly. They were already good on their own but you can always have gravy on them. The chicken steak was juicy and roasted perfectly. The pork chops and rib-eye were quite easy to chew and not too tough. As for the ribs, I still prefer TGIF’s sweet glaze over anything else.
Overall, it was a very satiating lunch albeit on the expensive side. Our entire meal cost around PHP 2000.00 including fresh fruit shakes. It was still a good try though.
