Victorinox’ Spectra 2.0
Victorinox is a Swiss brand whose major products include Swiss Army Knives, household knives, watches, fragrances, and of course, luggage bags.
This year, I made it a resolution to finally have my own luggage bag. Before, my parents would just buy on their own and we use them together as a family. However, since I started earning, I decided to finally draw a line between what’s theirs and mine. It could just be my personal pride but I feel really off using things I know are not mine.
Based from my more traveled friends’ personal experiences, some of the better brands are World Traveller, American Tourister, Delsey, and of course, Rimowa. The main criteria I consider when buying a luggage bag are durability and capacity, followed by price and aesthetics. Of course, ease of use comes into consideration as well.
Initially, I was looking at Delsey in SM Aura and was actually ready to buy one. However, we will be fetching my aunt on that particular day so the additional luggage wouldn’t fit in my Trailblazer. Because of that, I postponed the idea. After a few weeks, I went to SM North Edsa’s department store. While at Delsey’s area, my mom mentioned something about an expandable luggage. That’s when we saw Victorinox’ Spectra 2.0.
Spectra 2.0
I guess the biggest reason that I chose Victorinox’ Spectra 2.0 over any other luggage was because it’s expandable. I’ve had multiple instances wherein I would suddenly have a lot of things to pack when coming home from travels abroad. One time in Singapore, I had to carry a few boxes of moon cakes to give to my relatives. On the day of my flight home, I had to go to the nearest mall to buy an additional duffel bag. Talk about the stress of shopping and packing things a few hours before your flight! Now I know better!
With this, I don’t think I’ll need to worry about suddenly running out of space… But to be on the safe side, I think I’ll keep bringing a duffel bag with me. How about you? Which check-in luggage bag are you using and how is it so far? Would you recommend it?
