Requesting for your Credit Report from CIC
A credit report from the Credit Information Corporation includes your basic information as well as credit details from different institutions.
Aside from TransUnion, the Credit Information Corporation is another institution that processes your credit report. Like TU, getting your report with CIC is a fast and easy process.
Since the infographic CIC provided pretty much sums up the process, I will talk about my personal experience instead.
Submit an application online
First is the scheduling. You will need to choose a date as well as a morning or afternoon slot. The morning slot is scheduled at 9:00 am but you can arrive between 9:00 – 12:00 am. As for the afternoon slot, I’ll have to create another appointment to know.
Once set, you will then have to fill up some basic information about yourself. After that, simply submit the form in order to secure your slot.
Prepare for the appearance in the office
Second step would be to prepare for the appearance in their office. As soon as you submit your application online, you will receive an email containing instructions on what to prepare and bring on your scheduled date and time.
Proceed to the office on your appointed schedule
Third step would be to go to their office. I arrived at Exchange Corner Building around 11:15 am. After registering with the guard at the lobby, I proceeded to the 6th floor and went to CIC’s receptionist.
Wait for CIC to process your Credit Report
I simply mentioned to the receptionist that I was there to request for a credit report and she referred me to her colleague. Her colleague then asked for my IDs and the print-out of the application form and verified some information. With that done, she pointed me to the cashier for the PHP 55.00 payment. Once payment was done, I went to the operator this time so she could process my credit report.
In less than 5 minutes, my credit report was generated and sent to my email.
What’s in My Credit Report?
The first part of the report contains basic information about you. Aside from personal data, you can also find your government ID numbers and employment details.
Next, you can find your loan details (if any) on the second part of the report.
Lastly, you will see your credit cards and their details.
To be honest, TransUnion’s report seems to be more comprehensive than CIC’s. Although according to CIC, their system hasn’t been fully launched yet and should actually be working in tandem with TU’s.
And that’s it! To know more about CIC and their services, you can visit their website here.
