Infinite Journeys with KrisFlyer and Shangri-La
Infinite Journeys is Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer and Shangri-La Circle’s membership collaboration.
I first learned about “status matching” from watching other travel miles hackers on YouTube. Status matching is basically when a membership program matches your status from another program to theirs. Competing airlines or hotel groups usually do this in order to entice customers to switch to theirs. However, there are also times when collaboration occurs between airlines and hotel groups. Such is the case for Singapore Airlines and Shangri-La Group’s Infinite Journeys program.
At a glance, Infinite Journeys allows one to enjoy:
- 2x Recognition. This is the program’s status/tier matching. More on this below.
- 2x Rewards. Guests who stay at Shangri-La Group’s hotels and resorts worldwide will earn KrisFlyer Miles on top of Shangri-La Circle points.
- 2-Way Redemption. Members can convert their points/miles between the two programs while enjoying bonus rates.
Status Matching KrisFlyer Elite Gold with Shangri-La Circle Jade Tier
To get started, one must have an account in both Shangri-La Circle and KrisFlyer. For KrisFlyer, you must either be a PPS Club or KrisFlyer Elite Gold member in order to be matched to Shangri-La Circle Jade tier (after a one-night qualifying stay). For Shangri-La Circle, you must be a Jade or Diamond Member to be matched to KrisFlyer Elite Gold (after 3 flights for Jade, and 1 flight for Diamond).
The website actually offers quite a comprehensive walkthrough on how to do the status match so it isn’t difficult at all. The FAQs are also quite easy to understand.
On my part, I’ve already linked my accounts on both sides and just need a qualifying stay at a Shangri-La hotel/resort to get to Jade tier on Shangri-La Circle.
Update! Just a day after my stay at Shangri-La Hotel, I already got a notification that my status has been upgraded. Looking forward to experiencing what Jade tier has to offer.
