Requesting for your TransUnion Credit Report Via Lista

You can now access your credit score and credit report from TransUnion via the Lista app for a fee.

Before, one had to visit TransUnion’s office in Makati to get their credit report. Since the pandemic hit, majority shifted their businesses online or to the cloud; TransUnion included.

However, requesting for one’s credit report from TransUnion was done manually and took a few days’ to a few weeks’ turnaround time. Aside from taking up additional manpower for manual processing, the waiting time was just too long and would sometimes require multiple follow-ups. Thankfully, they partnered with Lista and made improvements to their system, allowing this process to be automated. Unfortunately, they also increased the fee for the request.

Note: I only tried this on Android so I’m not sure if this is accessible on the iOS already. I also have the latest version of the app. If only CIBI is appearing on your app and not TransUnion, they may have not fully rolled out the function yet. Don’t waste your time and money getting the report from CIBI as it’s highly inaccurate. In fact, my credit score with CIBI is in the 500s, quite far from the 800s in TransUnion.

How Do I Get My Credit Report Via Lista?

  1. Download the Lista app on Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Create an account and sign in if you haven’t.
  3. Expand “Your Credit Score & Report”
  4. You should see either TransUnion and/or CIBI. Select TransUnion.
  5. Go through a series of confirmations and fill in the necessary information. You will also be asked to enter an OTP at some point.
  6. After submitting the form, TransUnion will then attempt to search for a record that matches your information. When found, you can proceed to pay for your report.

  7. After payment, TransUnion will then process your report. However, you will have to go through a KYC process which involves taking a picture of your ID and a selfie.
  8. Wait for your the report to be generated. Mine took less than 5 minutes.
  9. When ready, the report will be available for download. You can access this back on the main page. However, you might be asked to create a folder first for security reasons. Select the newly created folder as the download location of your report.
  10. And that’s it. Go ahead and view your Credit Report.

My credit score has improved from 803 previously. However, a lot of information are missing such as my cards with Chinabank, UnionBank, and RCBC. I also don’t like how the information are all cramped together and how there aren’t any explanations for some of the fields. Nevertheless, it’s great how requesting for one’s credit report has become more accessible and faster. This also means that it’s easier for banks to process your succeeding credit card applications by simply referencing from TransUnion.

Hopefully more people get to use credit cards so banks can get even more competitive with their perks and benefits!

P.S: If you’re planning to apply for UnionBank’s Rewards credit card, please use my referral link here!
