Which Credit Cards are In My Wallet? – 2025
Since my last update, a few banks have devalued their credit cards’ rewards system while some have improved theirs. Here’s how I’ve been using my arsenal of credit cards this 2025.
Currently Active and Frequently Used
Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard
Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 30.00/mile
Annual Fee: PHP 6,000.00
Lounge Access: LoungeKey (USD 32.00 per visit)
Airline Partners: Mabuhay Miles, Asia Miles, KrisFlyer Miles, Qatar Airways, Falconflyer, GarudaMiles, Air Asia
Comments: Having one of the lower spend-to-miles ratio at PHP 30.00/mile for ANY transaction, Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard is more or less a good card. However, the lack of free lounge access might be a turn-off to some, specially considering that this is supposed to be a travel-oriented credit card. Possibly owing to this, the card’s annual fee is easily waivable with just a conditional spend of PHP 12,000.00 (x2 its annual fee). And it’s not just me. I’ve heard that others were also offered the same condition by the bank for their annual fee reversal.
On the other hand, Chinabank offers a wider variety of airline partners compared to other banks so that’s a plus for this card.

Personal Usage: Will be using for gas, service-related transactions, and on Chinabank promos
Metrobank’s Travel Visa Signature
Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 30.00/mile
Annual Fee: PHP 5,500.00
Lounge Access: unlimited access to PAGGS for the cardholder, also for the supplementary cardholder
Airline Partners: Asia Miles, Mabuhay Miles, KrisFlyer Miles
Comments: Similar to Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard but with local lounge access. For those who don’t want to dive too deep into points/miles multipliers, getting just this card and the Destinations card gets you a perfect duo that opens up the features, benefits, and promos of both the Mastercard and Visa brand.

Personal Usage: Will be using for gas, service-related transactions, and on Metrobank promos
BDO’s Diners Club Premiere
Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 30.00/mile, PHP 15.00/mile for dining transactions
Annual Fee: PHP 4,500.00
Lounge Access: Diners Club Lounges (2 free visits per membership year)
Airline Partners: Asia Miles, Mabuhay Miles
Comments: Still one of the best miles-earning credit card for me. Aside from earning PHP 30.00/mile by default and PHP 15.00/mile on dining, BDO has finally brought back promos with miles multipliers! Pre-pandemic, the multiplier would vary between x2 and even x8 so I’m really excited going forward. Aside from this, Philippine Airlines (Mabuhay Miles) is also returning as an airline partner for the Diners Club brand!
Unfortunately, the acceptance of this card remains a challenge. However, one can bypass this by cashing in to Grab and then using GrabPay’s QR PH to pay (albeit having a 2% processing fee). You can, however, take advantage of spend anywhere/online cashback promos to still yield a positive net when doing so.
Personal Usage: Will be using the card for dining transactions and on BDO promos
UnionBank’s Reserve Visa Infinite
Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 18.00 per mile on 5x categories such as shopping, dining, and foreign currency transactions
Annual Fee: PHP 12,000.00
Lounge Access: Priority Pass (unlimited entry for the card holder, 4 entries for guests/companion per membership year)
Airline Partners: Air Asia, Asia Miles, KrisFlyer Miles, Mabuhay Miles, Miles & Smiles (Turkish Airlines)
Comments: Probably the biggest flex for 2025 is when UnionBank added the merchant category code for fast food chains to their points multiplier (Rewards and Reserve credit cards).
One complaint I’ve had with this card is that it’s difficult to determine whether a dining establishment is considered for the multiplier or not. Moreover, unlike with Citibank, I’ve been unable to ask customer service for my transactions’ MCC. So I was extremely delighted when I learned that they’re finally updating their rewards system with the inclusion of MCC 5814.
Because of the multipliers now, it’s a no-brainer that this is going to be one of my most-used card (and should be the most sought after by everyone too). Of course, it being a metal card, has also been a consistent conversation-starter whenever I use it.

Personal Usage: Will be using the card for shopping, dining, and foreign currency transactions
Currently Active but Seldom Used
BDO’s AmEx Explorer
Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 40.00 per mile
Annual Fee: PHP 4,000.00 (principal cardholder) | PHP 2,000.00 (supplementary cardholder)
Lounge Access: PAGSS International Lounges located in NAIA Terminals 1 and 3 for cardholder only
Partners: 6 Frequent Flyer Program Partners plus 2 Frequent Guest Program Partners
Comments: Unfortunately, because of other cards with a lower spend-to-miles ratio, my usage of this card has significantly lessened; with me limiting it for use only when there are promos. Hopefully, the competition would force BDO to improve the benefits of their travel credit card.
Personal Usage: Will be using the card on BDO Promos
Note: These 5 cards are the ones I currently have in my most-used cards card holder. I have another set and will be updating this post soon so be sure to come back and check it out!
