2025 Update: Philippines’ Most Elite Credit Cards

Forget plastic — the real flex these days is metal. In the world of elite credit cards, it’s not just about rewards and airport lounges anymore. It’s about making a statement before you even tap.

PNB made waves last year with the launch of its Mabuhay Miles World Elite Mastercard. This year, Maya is stirring the pot with its mysterious new Black Credit Card—available in three sleek tiers: Jet, Midnight, and Metal. So far, only the entry-level Jet tier has been released, while details for Midnight and Metal remain under wraps. What we do know is that it’s ‘subscription-based’—a fancy way of saying there’s probably an annual fee involved.

As for the by-invite-only credit cards, they remain as elusive as ever—perhaps even more now that banks have quietly raised the bar for qualification. Whether it’s the concierge services, VIP airport treatment, or that luxurious metal feel in your hand, these cards cater to a select few.

Here’s a quick side-by-side comparison of the most coveted by-invite cards in 2025:

From Power Flex to Practical Swipe: Where Do You Fit In?

So, which one’s worth chasing? That really depends on where you are in your financial journey — and what kind of flex you’re after. If you’re loyal to BDO and have serious assets, their World Elite or AmEx Platinum might just land in your lap. Prefer a digital-first experience? Keep your eyes on Maya’s upper tiers as they roll out. But if you’re looking for a sleek, metal card with real-world perks that’s actually within reach, UnionBank’s Reserve might just be the sweet spot.

Already read my review on the Maya Jet or UnionBank Reserve? If not, those are a great place to start. But now I’m curious — which of these elite cards are you hoping lands in your inbox next? Let me know in the comments!

Note: I’ll be updating this post next with the official benefits of these cards (yes, including Maya’s mysterious upper tiers as soon as they’re available). Be sure to check back in or subscribe for updates.
