SM North Edsa’s Driver’s License Renewal
Renewing your driver’s license is less stressful at LTO satellite offices such as the one in SM North EDSA Annex building!
The satellite office of LTO in SM North Edsa follows the mall’s opening time at 10:00 or 11:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm. It is part of the partnership between SM and other government services such PAG-IBIG, GSIS, TIEZA, etc. You can find their booth at the lower ground floor of the Annex building, past the elevators. Unlike the Bureau of Immigration, clients can’t enter the mall outside of opening time.
Since I’ve already had my license renewed at Karuhatan before, I am only able to provide a rough overview of the procedures as described by my sister.
First would be the medical checkup. There’s a clinic conveniently located right before the government services. To get here, walk past the guard and head towards the end of the hallway. Turn left and you should see the clinic to your right. Once inside, get a queue number first. The receptionist will then call your number for payment at the cashier. This will cost around PHP 350.00. After paying, wait for your turn again before proceeding to the examination area. Get your results and head towards the government offices. When exiting the clinic, simply turn right.
The LTO booth is directly at the end of the hallway and should be next to a GSIS kiosk. You should see a small desk with a person manning it in front of the booth. You should mention that you’re there for the license renewal and the officer will give you a blue number. When it’s your turn, the person at the evaulation desk will call you. Give him/her your current license, OR and the medical results. You will then have to wait again before the officer takes your photo and signature. After this, you will be given a receipt which you’ll have to pay at the SM Business Services.
Return to the photo signature area when payment is done. You will receive a form which you must fill up. Show this once again to the person manning the booth in order to get a different number. Head to the encoding section when this new number is called. You have to make sure all information entered are correct. Accomplish everything and wait for the releasing of your 5-year validity driver’s license.
And there we go! Having your driver’s license renewal is not only more convenient at SM Malls, it’s also more comfortable. Still, the whole process took around 2 to 3 hours. Nevertheless, this is definitely better than renewing your license at a crowded and humid satellite office.

Hi Mike! You should be able to get your card already on the day itself. It shouldn’t take too long after encoding your information.
Paano po kung 5yrs na expired yung lisensya pwd pa ba mag renew sa mall o sa main office na yun?
Hi Jopelyn! Hindi lang po ako sigurado pero mukhang kailangan mo pong pumunta sa mga LTO Satellite offices na may testing centers. Based po kasi dito, http://www.lto.gov.ph/license-permit-issuance/292-drivers-license-and-permit-fees-and-charges.html, kapag more than 2 years expired na po, kailangan na po mag re-test.

May 2017 ako nagpa-renew tapos September 2017 ko makukuha yung akin kaso nung nagpunta ako sa araw na nakalagay sa receipt, sabi nung lalaking nakasalamin don, 8-10am Mon-Wed lang daw ang releasing nila. That day, I think it was Friday. So tinamad na akong kunin. Parang ewan. Kamot ulo na lang. Hahaha! Wala pa akong update uli kung ganon pa rin ba siste nila hanggang ngayon.
Weird ng LTO branch na yan… Sa Karuhatan branch ako nagpa-renew nung May lang rin. Wala namang specific time and day para sa releasing basta nag-punta lang ako sa schedule na ibinigay ng guard. Inulit yung encoding, photo and signature. Buti pa yung mga ngayon palang mag-rerenew. Isahang punta lang.
Same with me.. please confirm the time (8-10) yan din sabi saken doon for releasing. Not even sure kung nandon na nga ID ko, renewed last august pa. Do they even have a contact number? Hassle to go there tapos wala pa pala yung card,, thanks in advance!

Hi Kevin! Usually ung mga bukas lang sa Saturday ay mga satellite offices inside shopping malls. It might be better to double check with the center you’re planning to go to.

Hi Thess! Dalhin mo nalang po yung resibo mo sa LTO branch kung saan mo siya kinuha. Most likely kailangan mo ulitin ung proceso dahil nagbago sila ng system.

Hi Emil! Base po dito sa page nila (http://www.lto.gov.ph/license-permit-issuance/292-drivers-license-and-permit-fees-and-charges.html), hindi pa naman kailangan mag-re-exam kapag 1 to 2 years expired na ang license. Dapat pwede pa po sa mga satellite offices.

Yes, selected LTO satellite offices are open on Saturdays. Mostly these are the ones inside malls.

Hi Irene! I checked LTO’s website. According to it, converting from Non-Pro to Pro and vice versa requires no written/practical exam as long as the license is valid. For expired or delinquent licenses, either a written and/or practical exam is needed.
If valid naman, I think satellite offices should be able to handle it. Just in case, it might be better to call them para sure. 🙂

Hi po. Pwede po magtanong regarding sa renewal if 3pm po bako nagpunta or lets say 2pm ng saturday possible po ba makuha ko Card ko within the day? 15months napo expired license ko. Ask ko nadin po hm aabutin ng renewal fee kasama ng penalty.
