Redeeming Your AmEx Points/Miles Online
Save yourself the hassle of calling BDO’s customer service by redeeming your AmEx points/miles online. Here’s how you do it.
Many clients have recently aired their frustrations regarding BDO’s queueing time over their customer service hotline. Of course, if there’s a way to do things without needing to go through customer service, then that would be preferable.
In this post, I’ll show you how to redeem your miles from your American Express Explorer credit card.
1. Navigate to the redemption page here or go to BDO > Personal > Cards > Credit Cards > American Express Membership Rewards Redemption
2. Fill in the form as needed. I’ve written some explanations/tips to guide you on how to fill this up. Note that the page below may not look the same as the redemption page when you first go there. This is because some fields will appear depending on the options you select.
Field Information/Details
a. First Name and Last Name – Fill this up with the card holder’s details.
b. Card Type – Select the card type you want to redeem points/miles from. Depending on what you choose, the fields/selections may vary hereafter.
c. Card Number – Fill this up with the card’s details.
d. Rewards Type – Based on the Card Type, you may choose between “Frequent Traveler Option”, “Non-Frequent Traveler Option”, or “Membership Fee Waiver”.
Frequent Traveler Option is for when you want to transfer your points/miles to BDO’s airline and hotel partners. Next, Non-Frequent Traveler Option is when you want to redeem items. Lastly, Membership Fee waiver is when you want to waive your annual fee.
e. Rewards Code – This is the code of the item you wish to redeem which can be seen on the AmEx Incentivo Catalog.
For American Express Explorer, you use this catalog. Then, for the other card types, you use this one instead.
f. Other fields – Fill in the other fields as needed such as the Frequent Flyer/Hotel Guest Account Number and Account Name, etc.
g. PHP Points to be Redeemed / USD Points to be Redeemed – If you’re redeeming items, simply multiply the quantity of items being redeemed with the required number of points (from the catalog) and enter this into the PHP field. You can leave the USD field blank or enter 0.
If you’re redeeming airline miles/hotel points, then enter the number of points/miles you want to be converted on the PHP field. You can also leave the USD field blank or enter 0.
And that’s it!
