Metrobank Travel Visa Signature: A Review

At PHP 30.00/mile, Metrobank’s revamped Travel Visa Signature credit card easily becomes one of the top credit cards for earning airline miles.

What’s the Metrobank Travel Visa Signature?

Spend-to-Miles Ratio: PHP 30.00 per mile

Annual Fee: PHP 5,500.00 (source)

Lounge Access: unlimited access to PAGGS for the cardholder, also for the supplementary cardholder

Airlines Partner: Asia Miles, Mabuhay Miles, KrisFlyer Miles

Other Notes:

  • 1.68% forex fee (promo until November 19, 2025), 1.70% forex fee afterwards
  • Access to 24/7 Visa Concierge

Why did I get it?

Aside from Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard credit card, Metrobank’s Travel Visa Signature credit card boasts one of the lowest spend-to-miles ratio in the market at PHP 30.00/mile. This covers any and all type of transactions so you don’t have to think about multipliers and such.

Getting the card also opens up promos from the Visa payment brand as well as from Metrobank. While I already have Metrobank’s World Mastercard, my usage of the card is limited right now to online transactions. Once the promo for x3 points is over, having a card with better spend-to-miles ratio when availing of Metrobank promos would be preferable.

How did I apply for it?

December 14, 2024: Applied online via Metrobank’s website. Since I’m an existing credit card holder of Metrobank, not much information or other requirements were needed.

January 13, 2025: Sent an email to Metrobank requesting for an update on my application.

January 20, 2025: Received the credit card. Delivery was done by MSRV.

The Verdict?

The card looks sleek with it’s silver edges and is definitely an upgrade from Metrobank’s previous Travel credit card.

Metrobank’s Travel Visa Signature pairs great with Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard. Of course, it’s still good enough as a stand-alone card should you prefer to have only one.

With the cards I have right now, I’ve fully covered earning the maximum miles I can get from shopping, dining, online, service, and gas. Not only that, I now have access to majority of the banks and almost all major payment networks with Chinabank’s Destinations World Mastercard, Metrobank’s Travel Visa Signature, BDO’s American Express Explorer, and BDO’s Diners Club Premiere. At the moment, I would say that these cards are sufficient and I that probably won’t be getting a JCB or a UnionPay anymore.
