Mandaluyong’s Left Behind (Escape Room)

“Left Behind PH is an immersive and intense escape room experience. Players navigate through rooms where they must look for clues, solve puzzles and ultimately find their way out before the time expires.”

Left Behind is located at the 2nd floor of Mandala Park, Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong. You should be able to spot it easily when entering the parking area of Mandala Park – it’s on the building across the plaza to your right (opposite of the entrance of Puregold Shaw). If you’re coming from the stairs on the right side of the building, the reception desk is going to be on the 2nd door; if you’re coming from the stairs on the left side of the building, it’s going to be on the 1st door.

The reception or waiting area

For walk-in customers, you can try your luck and see if there are available slots. However, it is highly recommended that you check the schedules and book online instead. As for those with a reservation already, here is where you sign waiver forms. Don’t worry, this is just so you won’t end up spilling any secrets and giving out spoilers!

Before starting the game, you also get briefed on the rules and regulations here. After the game, this is there you have your photo shoot! And if you’re good enough, you could end up on the leader boards as well.

The rooms

Left Behind currently offers two rooms to complete, “The Institution” and “The Sinking”. In “The Institution”, you and your friends are placed and locked in a, well, institution for crazy people and must find a way to escape before you really become one of them. Meanwhile, on “The Sinking”, all of you are stowaways and must search for a way out of a sinking ship. Two nicely-themed rooms – with the Institution on an easier difficulty compared to the Sinking.

A 3rd room is set to open within the year, so that’s something to look forward to! They will also be setting up a pop-up in Uptown Mall in BGC sometime this September; so if you’re living further down south, that would be your chance to visit them.

The experience

We initially only booked “The Sinking” but had so much fun and was happily frustrated about not being able to get out that we went for “The Institution” right after. Alas, we got #LeftBehind as well. Now, I’m not one to give up so I’m definitely coming back to challenge the rooms with a vengeance!

I’ve already tried Breakout, Mystery Manila and Escape Hunt, and based from experience, Left Behind is certainly one of my personal top choices. It offers a very healthy dose and mix of both looking for clues and solving puzzles, not to mention going through multiple, well-designed rooms. They also provide you with a clue bag that you can bring with you during the game to place your clues in!

Note: Each room can accommodate 2 – 6 players at a time. Also, the cost varies with the number of players so its better to have more players on your team.
