Paying Makati RPT Through Maka-Connect

Not to be outdone by other cities, Makati also offers online RPT payment through their Maka-Connect portal.

Since 2021 is coming to a close, it’s time to pay the real property taxes (or amilyar) for the year 2022. By paying early, one can receive a 10-20% discount depending on the city they’re paying for.

On a previous blog post, I wrote how you can pay Makati City’s RPT by going to the city hall. On this blog post however, I will tell how you to do it online through Maka-Connect.

Step 1

Navigate to this page, select “Real Property Tax”, enter your Tax Declaration Number on the field below, and click “Search”.

Step 2

When successful, you will see information related to the Tax Declaration Number such as owner’s name and address. If correct, continue by pressing “Proceed”.

Step 3

On the new page, tick the number of checkboxes according to the number of quarters you will be paying for. In the screenshot above, ticking “Qtr 0” corresponds to paying annually. Depending on your selection, the “total amount to be paid” will be updated. Take note of this amount and Makati City’s Landbank account details, which you can see right below the computation table.

You’re done with Maka-Connect’s website for now and will have to return here when you have your proof of payment.

Step 4

Transfer or deposit the required amount to Makati City’s Landbank Account. Do not forget to take a screenshot or a picture of the proof of payment since you will need to upload this later. In my case, I used Citibank’s Citi PayAll feature to transfer money to their bank account.

Once you have your proof of payment ready, repeat steps 1 to 4 and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Step 5

Fill up the details and upload your proof of payment. Click the “Submit” button and you’re done!

I’m not sure if you will get a notification when Makati City successfully receives your RPT payment. I’m guessing I didn’t receive any because I didn’t tick the “request a payment certificate” check box. Anyhow, I did find a way to know if payment is successful. After a few days, you can try performing “Step 1” again. If the Tax Declaration Number is already paid, you will receive an error message instead.

And that’s it! Let’s remember to pay our taxes in advance to avoid penalties. Stay safe!
