Cebu – Bohol Day 3 (Bohol Tours – Staying at Hennan)

Enjoy Bohol Tours with Bohol Life Tours

To make our Bohol tour easier and more comfortable, we opted to take the Day Tour provided by Bohol Life Tours. For 3 people, the package costs PHP 4,800.00. This includes pick-up and drop-off at strategic locations across Bohol, a private, air-conditioned transportation with driver, a lunch buffet at Loboc River Cruise and entrance fees for select destinations.

Our first stop was at Baclayon Church and Museum. According to our driver, strong earthquakes destroyed most of the churches in Bohol. Despite the destruction, priests and church-goers would continue to hold masses outside while restoration works were on-going. You are free to enter the Church while you would need to pay PHP 50.00 for the museum.

Random thought: There are a lot of superstitious beliefs regarding wishes such as the wishing well. Another popular practice is the lighting of candle when one first visits a church.

Next up on our itinerary was the Bohol Butterfly Bonsai Garden. True to its name, this place houses different species of butterflies and bonsai.

This is where you relive your elementary days and get re-acquainted with the life cycle of a butterfly.

Random thoughts: Insects are scary. I was freaking out the entire time and wanted to get out as soon as possible.

Soon after came our Loboc River Cruise with lunch buffet. Here, you get to experience eating at a floating restaurant while the scenery changes around you. Quite romantic, if you ask me! At the end, you will also be treated to a performance by the natives.

Note: Feel free to tip them at the end!

Random thoughts: Most of the dishes were Filipino favorites such as the pansit and BBQ. For dessert, we had halo-halo and maja blanca.

On your tour, you will come across the Bilar Man-Made Forest. You’ve probably seen a few pictures like this on Instagram – those buwis-buhay shots in the middle of the road just to capture this majestic forest. Believe me when we say it is buwis-buhay.

Once you’re done, it’s time to meet the tarsiers at the Tarsier Conservation Area. Just make sure not to startle them and stress them out! They can be very moody after all.

Before, I could only read about the Chocolate Hills from our elementary school books. Now, I got to see and admire them in person! It’s actually quite stunning to see how so many of these hills could be in one place.

After all that awe and fascination comes fear. As part of the tour, you will also get the chance to cross a Bamboo Hanging Bridge at Sevilla. Sure, you could opt out but if you have friends like mine… Well, you only live once right?

For souvenirs and gifts, you can shop at Aproniana Souvenir Shop. During this time, Bohol Life Tours will give you a tourist ID which you could use to avail of discounts!

Our last stop was the Blood Compact Marker. Also known as Sandugo, this place serves as a memento of the Filipinos’ and Spaniard’s friendship.

At the end of our Bohol tour, our driver dropped us off at our last day’s accommodation: Henann Resort Alona Beach!
